The POWAR walk is being held as a statement and fund-raiser for the establishment of the first POWAR centre. It will be open to all who want to express their support for this worthwhile cause - men, women and children alike - it’s time we all took a stand against this scourge that is affecting the ongoing development of our beautiful country. The walk is over a flat 5km course, and is not competitive, but is designed to show solidarity and make a statement.

DONATIONS CAN BE MADE IN THE FOLLOWING WAYS:

• R10 - WALK ENTRY FEE DONATION TO POWAR
• R30 - ENTRY FEE + POWAR ARMBAND or KEYRING or STICKER
• R50 - AS ABOVE + ENTRANCE TICKET TO “IT’S A WOMANS’ WORLD”
  (VALID ANY DAY OF THE SHOW - ATTEND JES FOORD’S MOTIVATIONAL TALK)
• R100 - AS ABOVE + POWAR T-SHIRT

1. There is no competitive element to the POWAR Walk. Entrants will be asked to walk as a group, and stay within the confines of the group.
2. Entrants are to obey the directions of the event marshalls and City Police and monitoring officials at all times.
3. Parents walking with children are requested to ensure that their children are with them at all times during the event. Children under 16 may only enter if accompanied by an adult.
4. Banners in support of the POWAR cause may be carried by entrants. No other cause may be promoted during the event.
5. Pre-entries close on the 15th January 2009. T-shirts sizes can only be guaranteed to those taking the T-shirt option who have registered by this date.
6. Entrants (in the R30, R50 and R100 categories above) are requested to collect their packs from the POWAR Walk registration desk at the ICC (next to the entrance for “It’s A Woman’s World”). The registration desk will be open from Wednesday the 28th to Saturday the 31st of January from 10:00am to 5:00pm.
7. The entry tickets for “It’s A Woman’s World” (in the R50 and R100 options above) are valid for any day of the Show (Friday 30th and Saturday 31st 10:00am to 7:00pm, Sunday 1st February 10:00am to 5:00pm)
8. Entrants enter this event entirely at their own risk.
9. Lucky number prizes will be drawn after the event is completed. Entrants have to be at the prize-giving function when their number is drawn to claim their prizes.
